Development of an innovative telemetry system for elite athletes
About the project
During our research, the question arose as to why some athletes struggle to reach their peak performance. For elite athletes, the most common feedback method is based on the subjective observations and experience of their coaches. However, in today’s world, technology offers the opportunity to examine and apply the best training methods for improvement based on objective data rather than subjectivity. Our product aims to make this possible outdoors and across various sports disciplines.
Our goal is to achieve a sports reform that transforms the relationship between competitive athletes and coaches. We intend to accomplish this by developing a sports garment capable of capturing, analyzing, and evaluating the entire body’s movement culture. This will provide insights into the current state of preparedness, potential axis deformities, and musculoskeletal and internal medical risk factors that may arise during movement. These results will offer coaches objective data alongside subjective information.
Through sensor integration, we empower the sports garment to convert and transmit a wealth of information about the overall body’s movement culture and biological functions that arise during sports activities to the software interface.
In the future, the clothing’s utility could extend to various other areas, such as healthcare, where we might focus primarily on monitoring joint displacement relative to each other.

NODE, the foundational smart sportswear measurement system of InnoWear
Continuous monitoring of elite athletes’ performance is crucial for effective training and progress. NODE is a revolutionary prototype device that translates human body movement into electronic signals, enabling coaches to precisely observe every motion of their athletes.
ECU, the brain of the InnoWear smart sportswear measurement system
The ECU is a pioneering control unit capable of instantly interpreting all data from NODE units and transmitting it to the appropriate software. With the advantages offered by the system, training techniques and performance measurement methods can be taken to a new level.
Testing
We have completed testing the communication between the ECU and the NODEs, as well as converting the signals coming from the sensors into easily extractable data. For this, we used portable data storage devices.
Testing 2.0
Currently, we are testing the sensors sewn into the clothing, focusing on collecting and analyzing data generated by the sensors to evaluate the system’s performance and reliability in real-time applications.
